How does solar power work?

It’s really as easy as 1-2-3. You generate free electricity from the sun that powers your home and any solar power you don’t use gets pushed back into the utility grid for a full value credit. 1. Convert Sunlight Into DC Electricity Solar panels are mounted on your roof and convert sunlight into DC electricity that flows to an inverter. 2. Inverter Creates AC Electricity Inverters convert the direct current (DC) power into alternating (AC) power that your home can use. 3. Spin Your Meter Backwards You’ll still have utility power when you need it. Any excess electricity will be delivered to the grid for a credit. Also known as Net Metering!
